Calibration

Hello!

I tried calibrating my Envision cutter, but it seems like it only takes care of left and right calibration, not forward and back. At this time I have to line up considerably under the crosshairs to get an accurate cut. How do I fix that?

PS: Is it just me, or did all the threads in the Gerber category go away? I hope this forum isn't pruning :)

There is a built-in error in registration that results from differing quantities of foils in cartridges. For that reason you should always plan your setups using chokes & spreads as well as bleeds. I would estimate the tolerance error to be + or - .02". There is also, since Omega 3.0, a Gerber utility intended to allow operator correction of whatever error any particular job presents.

We do not prune our threads. There are currently 827 threads in the Gerber hardware forum containing 5,827 posts. There are an additional 223 threads (1,488 posts) in the Gerber software forum. That is the total since the year 2003.

Thanks Fred, though I think you are referring to the printer? I'm referring to the plotter in that it cuts inaccurately if you line it up in the cross hairs. This is very consistent, no matter how much foil is in a cartridge.

I'm glad you don't prune! More threads = more content = more Google love = more traffic = more $$$ :)

But if you line it up in the cross hairs, is it not to cut something that you have just printed? If the target is off of the exact correct spot, so will be the cut.

FWIW, my observation is that the registration errors are the least when you select the center position for the target and that the print is centered on the vinyl.
