Just bought a used VS300. I knew there was some problems with it. After doing a test print I see blue in the yellow. After a normal cleaning it almost gone. The rest of the colors looks ok. When printing I get banding. Its mostly on the red and yellow colors. Attached are a few pictures. Please take a look and tell me what you think. Everything is printed in best quality using versaworks. Thank you.

Hi.
I would guess that the red/yellow head is the cause. Have you tried powerful cleaning mode? The testprint shows in my opinion that the red pattern is a little off/fluffy in the pattern. Why the blue color appears in the yellow on the first testprint I can not say, but if the machine has been on travel it may have been cross contaminated during movement etc. If your print is made in high def., it should not have banded like that. How do the settings look like for the set-up in general? If the calibr. setting is off, it can cause banding also. If the printer has been used elsewhere I suppose you would have to check every setting available in the menus.
Good luck with your efforts.

Regards
Tony

Thanks for the input Tony. The machine has been on a long journey, so you may be right about the cross contamination. I have done some changes in the setting (Error Diffusion/Bi-linear) and it looks much better now.

We had that "color mixing into the wrong space" problem on our test prints, and we needed new caps. Not sure if that applies here, but that was what we needed.

Thanks Kate. I have ordered new cap and dampers to the machine. It works good on most jobs now, but have a little problem on colors that need yellow. like orange. Its a hint of blue in them.
