can u print grey on clear?

i just had a customer come in with cartoon charactors on his car they were grey printed on clear is this possible with a roland sp300

is it solid grey or halftone of black? solid gray I would assume thermal printer w/gray spot foil...if it's merely a halftone you could do it...

I print gray on clear with the Edge as I can put white behind it to prime it, can you do that with your printer? if so, that would work.

If you're applying it to a white car then it'll be fine.

If the car isn't white then it won't be gray, it's just be a darker shade of whatever the car is. Unless you can lay down white as suggested by Marlene.

Process inks are translucent. You can create a pretty opaque black, but lighter shades of anything have too much show through to be unaffected by the color underneath.
