Canon Colorado M, double sided printing "winding error" when printing 2nd side

I've printed plenty of double sided banner on the Colorado without issue, I guess all the banners so far have been light coverage / color.

Now I'm printing some almost all black banners and when printing the second side I get a "winding error" and print aborts. I think the dark color of the first side is confusing the take up sensors. Winding does not start when the material passes the sensor and shortly after the error occurs.

Any one see this happen before, any work arounds? I was thinking of manually triggering the sensors with white material. Calling canon tomorrow to as for a solution.

Pretty dumb how it cancels the entire perfectly good print over this and ruins it when the error should not really be a big deal

It’s all about your print!

Can't say I've seen this error but I agree with the cancelling issue, I hate how with every little issue it has to cancel the whole job. Sucks even more if it's the second side of the double sided banner. I've had it cancel on me because it couldn't read the AAC marks on the back side of 18oz pole banner. Seems stupid, if it can't read them, just ignore them and keep printing. Don't cancel it.

Yes I've lost lots of prints due to it canceling whole print over little stuff when it could've just finished printing or at least give me a choice if i want to cancel or continue. Could've easily finished this job, winding isn't that important. Trying again tommorow and will snap a pic of error code before calling canon

WHAT WOULD HAPPEN if you put 2strips of application tape on the newly printed underside.
thesensors would then see a light color/ reflection.

Yea I'll try that tomorrow, I'm 99% sure that is the problem as it is only having an issue with the black print double sided banner
