Car Wrap Question(s)

Been seeing a lot of car wrap videos on social media, YouTube, etc. In most cases, they are just applying all sorts of custom colored vinyl onto vehicles then using the torch and/or squeegees to mold it around the body. I started wondering...what about laminate? Are these products already laminated or are they applying lam after the wrap, or are they even using laminate? Have had some conversations with local race car drivers and they tell me they apply their graphic panels to the car then apply lam over it.

Having a wide format printer, I would assume that I'd print,, then laminate, then install. Is this right? Thanks for your input!

For regular vehicles you print, laminate then install, I've never once seen/heard of applying a laminate after you wrap the car/truck.

For race cars, I haven't laminated the wraps because they are typically too cheap to pay for laminate. However, we have some late model panels at home we bought and they have partial wraps then fluorescent outline THEN a laminate over that. I'm assuming it's a thicker laminate because using a 2mil lam on a race car panel would be darn near impossible to apply by hand. I wanted to try liquid laminate on my sons car after we applied the partial wrap and fluorescent outlines but we ran out of time the night before racing started LOL I guess I could still try it...
