Changing clock on the JV33 to use expired ink

Does anyone know how to successfully change the clock backwards on the JV33 to use expired ink? When I try to change it gives me an error and won't keep the change.

Probably have to pull the back cover and then pull the battery from the mainboard and let it sit for about 10 minutes which will reset the machine back to factory defaults....
