CJV150 power off issue

Hi,

For the past two weeks, my Mimaki CJV150-75 has not been shutting down when I press the power (end) button.

It only powers off automatically after the configured standby time (20 minutes).

I tried unplugging the printer for 20 minutes, but the issue persists and the power button still does not work.

It’s not a major problem, but I would like to understand what could be causing it.

That button is a sub power switch so it doesn't turn power on and off but rather tells the main board to power off and it takes care of the shutdown sequence. Since your auto power off is working, the main board should be working properly. So that leaves the button itself malfunctioning, the panel board, or maybe the cable that connects it to the main board. If I was working on it in the field, I would probably start by just changing the panel board which is the board the button is on.

That's the one. I'd see if you have a Mimaki dealer near you who will sell it to you. Probably much faster that way.

I would completely turn off the machine (and unplug) and try the following. "Play" with every physical button on the control panel and while doing so, noting whether each button has free movement and, most importantly, good "return" after letting it go back up. It could be that another button was being pressed down/activated/stuck without you realizing it and that this (always on) signal might be blocking the control panel from detecting the power button from also being activated.

Hi, i can do that but each day i "play" with almost all buttons, exept the left and right but i can do that

If the problems comes and goes it is indicative that it was triggered by something you may have done.
And pressing the other buttons may have been that...
It's just a guess...

Look closely/judiciously when pressing the buttons making sure that none are getting stuck.
The point of the exercise is to try and find a cause for your problem - a culprit.
You may or may not find one....

Maybe it's a button, maybe its just the panel that is beginning to fail - It is going to be hard to tell without taking things apart...

By the way, you do know that you have to hold down the End/Power button for a couple of seconds for the machine to turn off, right?

You can't just press it and let it go, you have to hold it down for a moment...
Sorry if I am stating the obvious,,,
