CMYK (1bit) vs (2bit)?

hello all!

just a basic question here. i use flexi production manager and under print mode, it gives you the option of using either CMYK (1 bit) or CMYK (2 bits). can anybody kindly give me the difference between the two or the impact is has on my print?
