I have an older graphtec plotter (fc3100-120) with a serial port (rs232c) and i need to connect it to a new pc with usb port. I have a 25 to 9pin cable for the plotter. any suggestions on how to connect it, adapt it etc. please help.

serial to usb adapter from radioshack or any computer store should have them.

ok, thats pretty easy. Once its connected, where do i go from there? Do i need a driver? plotting software of course. any suggestions?

My best suggestion is the just get a serial card installed on your PC using one of your available PCI ports, it might be cheaper then an adapter.
