Never saw or heard of a conversion kit. Probably be better off buying one, especially if you have employees. If you don't have employees you could always Frankenstein it.
Bimba makes really good air cylinders, lines, fittings, flow valves etc... In my "former life" I installed hundreds and hundreds of them on all types of converting equipment.

Yes same here working on web offset printing presses.

There are some pretty cheap automatic heat presses from China. It's basically an electromagnet, timer, and some bike shocks as far as I can tell.
