I wanted to get some input from other people on this situation which I haven't encountered before.
I have a organization that orders decals from me once in a blue moon. They now want to re-order a design they had last gotten several years ago when I was working with someone who no longer works in their organization. Well this person still gets decals from me for personal projects. He happened to be in and I asked him a question about this decal the organization wanted to re-order. He asserted to me that he owned the copyright and they couldn't have them produced. I was like "whatever" and e-mailed them to tell them.
The next morning I got a message from someone in the organization explaining why they can order the decals and I agree with them. This is a military organization and all the elements in the logo are theirs but this former employee just moved them around and came up with a different layout. I let this person from the organization know that I would have his former employee contact him with any questions.
I feel like I have removed myself from the situation, but I am still nervous that an order is going to come through and there is going to be a problem if I produce them. The former employee could be described as "unstable". What would some of you do in this type of scenario, or have you been in this type of situation?
