Corel gone whacky

I have been using Coreldraw for 20 years. All of a sudden things have gone whacky. My keyboard commands do not work: "P" used to place images on the center of the page. "E" used to line object up horizontally. crl-k used to break a paragraph into separate lines. Several other similar issues.
I am still using the 2018 version. Is this their way of forcing us to upgrade or did I inadvertently change my setting?

Try holding F8 as you open corel. This should reset your workspace to the default settings.

Bare in mind you will lose any customisations you have made to Coreldraw (custom keyboard short cuts, colour palettes etc.) so might be worthwhile backing up your workspace first, then pressing F8 while Coreldraw is loading, test the default workspace is working as it should and then importing your workspace into Coreldraw.

Thanks for the suggestion. I did get a warning that I was about to load the default workspace, but nothing changed. When I go to workspace there is only one option which is "adobe illustrator".

Arial Sucks.
Do you have any other apps or utilities running in the background that could override keyboard shortcuts in CorelDRAW? If not, it's possible the application might have to be reinstalled.

I have been using Coreldraw constantly since version 2.0. That's allmost 40 years I think. I'm also still on 18 because of the macro's I've programmed. Here everything is working fine. No major issues. Did you ever export your workspace as a backup ? I've had to re-import it several times over the past years.

Try repairing the installation, you should have about 5 stock workspace options I think

Did you move to a new operating system recently? Or maybe a Windows update did something. I'd hate to re-install but maybe that's the end option. Yes I agree with the person who said try a REPAIR installation.

I use x7, I have it on 3 computers, Windows 8.1, W10, and W11 it's working fine for me too. I don't know how it's working on 3 of my computers, but it is. I will be shutting down my W8.1 shortly. I to would repair before I hit F8.

Not likely the issue, but I've had a notepad slide under my ctrl key before, keeping it from registering presses, and it sent me into fits for about 30 seconds. Perhaps one of the folks with 2018 could upload the default workspace for you?

Thanks to all who offered suggestions. I didn't know anything about the workspace until you guys told me about it. I actually have 2 computers with Corel. I went to the one that is working normally and exported that workspace. I then downloaded that workspace to the computer with the flaky Corel and imported it and it is now working perfectly. Thanks again.

I'm glad you fixed it , but that is still weird that you had to do that!
