Corel photo-paint 12 and HP Scanjet 5200C

I have an older scaner which i lost the soft ware to and I knew that Corel could scan Images so I plugged the USB into my XP laptop and it reconized it and every thing. So I click on aquire image and select the scanner and it starts to scan but it never does anything and then after about 5 min it says the twain driver returned an unknow error code.

Any Ideas how to get it to work?

I recently had similiar problem with my new scanner. I had it turned on before I plugged in my usb cable. Wouldn't work this way. I tried turning it off, plugged in my usb, then turned on scanner and everything worked great. Maybe not the problem, but easy to try, maybe it'll work.
