Corel problems

I am using CorelDraw 12 for some logo's and I am designing with RGB and when I print the designs on my ink jet printer the images look great at 300dpi but when I copy them to a CD for the printer who is using X3 and he prints them using a Roland VerrsaCamm the colors are not as sharp and bright.

What am I doing wrong?

I would also like to know if others are using the Corel color palattes and if so which ones are you using.

I am using Pantone solid coated.

I have an older version of corel but under tools - options there is a "global" setting. Try changing that.
I sometimes have to change it to send out prints.
Hope that does the trick..

Basic problem you'll face when you design in palletes outside of CMYK. Most wide format printers print in at least CMYK. CMYK has less then half the colors(if not even less) of an RGB pallete. Your desktop printer is an RGB printer so it can accuratly replicate what you see on your RGB monitor. You mentioned you use the Pantone pallete. If you ever get a chance have your printer show you a Solid to Process pantone book, you can see how much the print gamut is reduced by cmyk. If your artwork is RGB bitmaps have him print them as RGB. Best bet is to have him print out a pantone chart for your reference so that you can design to his abilities
