CS3 and CS4 masked rastered objects issue

Hello everyone. We have tiff file in Illustrator, a vector mask laid on it and accordingly a clipping mask too. In Illustrator all these looks fine. I save the file in 8 or CS3(4) version. Insert it into InDesighn, then export to PDF. In PDF it looks like there is no mask, ie tiff looks as uncircumcised mask.
This bug started to appear in my CS3, thought in CS4 it will go away, but just today popped up again:( can someone recommend something?
P.S. Illustrator with all the latest updates.

We need more info, what will you be doing with this file? Printing it? sending it out to a vendor? proofing for a customer?
