Custom shapes/graphics

When cutting custom shapes out of ACM, PVC etc. and applying digital graphics do you use the same file for the contour cut of the graphic or slightly over/under size it? Is it better to have the graphic slightly back from the edge or trimmed right to it? On straight cuts I normally oversize about 1/4 inch and trim back with knife at an angle but I think it will be a little tougher with these custom shapes.
Thanks!

We go an 1/8" to 1/4" over and trim by hand from the back like we do with square pieces. The key is having a very sharp knife and going slowly so you don't gouge the material and can cleanly follow the lines.

I sell signage and signage accessories.
also make sure theres nothing that'll scuff the graphic on your cutting table... sawdust can do it if you drag the graphic over it.
