Cut Studio not opening AI or EPS

Alright, I usually cut straight out of Illy but have had some issues with paths not cutting. I utilize cut studio for names and numbers and like the ease of use with cut studio. For some of my vinyl cutting, cut studio is not accepting Illy AI or EPS's. States they are a bad format. I am using CS2. I can copy image in but can only "make outline" which results in a poor path quality. Any reason why cut studio is not opening my Illy files directly?
