cutter question?

we have been talking about getting a new cutter..
What type of cutter cuts through the vinyl and the backing? So we can do decals cut through all
would it not cut into the machine?

we are looking to upgrade. we have and old vinyl express q160 that is getting bad...

I love my Rolands. They are dead on. So much that I did a print cut removed it form the cutter for got to add some more down force for the lam. Re-cut same peace. Cuts were in the same place. I was thinking it maybe off like a smig but nope all was good..
