Cutting Carboard with GX 24

I have a customer who has requested a sign that is unique/different for their new building. I'd like to propose a 3-D sign and would like to build a scale model of it using cardboard. The appearance of the model for design I have in mind would not look good if all the parts were not the same scale. I'd like to create the model using CorelDraw and then cut the parts and tape them together. We have a Roland GX 24 cutter and I would like to know if cutting 0.040" thick cardboard is within the capabilites of the cutter?
