I thought you were gonna say the ceo came out and asked why tf did you spend all this money

it was HIS project/brain child. It was to impress the shareholders. I thought it was a great solution, though I wouldn't have suggested it, or even thought of it.

After they moved those pipes out of the way, we finished the install, and it looks great.

I've had those situations plenty of times. What I have told my employees, something I've heard from someone else. "Would You Pay For That"? I rather ree do before letting client noticed.
