Dropping way to much ink

I have been having an issue with certain colors dropping way to much ink. Mainly dark blues/purples. Most of the prints will be fine except certain colors. Doesn't matter if it is a CMYK, RGB, etc... Maybe I have something set up in the RIP process wrong? Any Ideas?

Have you tried multiple profiles? Does it happen on all media as well? Usually too much ink is either a mismatched profile or a media/environment issue.

I've come across this from time to time when I would choose a particulate print profile at a faster print setting. It would look great in other areas while in some areas (reds seems to do it for me) would do that weird pooling on the sides like that.
