EFI Pro 30h, HP R2000 plus or comparable

I’m in the market for a new flatbed / hybrid and trying to decide between machines around this price point. I’ve seen the EFI run at trade shows and really like it, but do not know of anyone running one in a day to day setting. I know the HP will not print as wide as the EFI, but appears it may be a user friendly machine for maintenance, etc…any feedback on these or a comparable machine would be appreciated. I really like the Canon XL and love the digitech, but am being told couldn’t get the XL until later this year and the Digitech is a little overkill for my needs and probably beyond my price point by the time I have to add a separate roll machine. Thanks in advance.

What EFI are you looking at specifically? the 30H? I have the 30F(just the flatbed version) or are you looking at the m3h(in price point of the Texas/Digitech) had an R1000. fantastic printer especially in terms of quality and lack of issues. The HP is great. I only outgrew her because I needed more speed. Actually at that point now with my 30F. The biggest issue with the 30H is that it is dealer supported. I had a terrible time with my reseller. I had the printer close to a year before we could print onto plastic. Turned out it was installed improperly. On the bright side it's now supported directly from EFI. They are fantastic. Incredible support. I actually ended up buying a 32H from them because of their intervention with my reseller. So choose that ally appropriately. Im happy to answer anything specific. If the 30F is of any interest, I think we owe 80k. That's what it will be sold for. In terms of reliability, it has been incredible.

I have heard good things about the Canon, but I am not sure when those will be available. EFI is great, but you need to have their service contract, as support can get expensive. If you are looking into flatbed/hybrid options, take a look at the Stratojet, as they have some new specialty color options like orange for expanded gamut. We currently use only their CMYKx3 +WV setup; it's been 4+ years holding strong. They are not as fast as Digitech but their speed works for our production
