Epson Dropped the Ball big time with Epson G6070 release

Purchased the new Epson DTF printer, Epson G6070 + shaker bundle back In February, paid in full

Sold as "Shipping April"

Shaker was delivered early May.

June is in a few days and the dealer went radio silent. No updates, no reason for delay. Nothing.

Pretty crazy, putting a big delay into my plans I had for this printer. Reading some other reviews online I'm definitely not the only one waiting.

Another bad sign is that I purchased ink from a couple of different vendors and no one has ink for this "Shipping in April" printer.

The Updates I got:

3 weeks ago "you're third in line"
2 weeks ago "printer arrived and will ship out in a couple of days"

Radio silence since then

I believe the Roland solution is in stock and ready to ship if you want some numbers, Victor. Depending on which shaker the whole system is either $26K or $30K. They have a shaker made in the US which is $4K more than the one from Asia.

Yea I would've bought the Roland if Epson was honest about their actual release date. Now waiting 14+ weeks might as well keep waiting I'm afraid.

Our printer arrived.. Still waiting for ink.
I got tracking for my printer finally, should be here this week but my fear is that I won't have ink. Ordered a couple of sets from different suppliers but only received a couple of white bags. No one has an eta on the rest of the ink it seems. I ordered from 5 different suppliers of ink

Sounds about right... I did hear that some distributors had ink and maintenence solution on the shelves briefly, but imagine it sold quick to some of the first printer deliveries... Hoping Epson can fulfill before mid-July. A bit curious about the supply issues from Epson, but the way the world is operating right now, it doesn't come as a big let down or surprise.

That would suck to get the printer with a set of inks, start printing and find out there is no more ink available and no firm date/info on when it might be available.

My guess is they are prioritizing other countries, why send stuff here and pay tarrifs on it when I'm sure there is enough demand in the rest of the world

Could definitely be the case... I'm not sure how they thought this release would go, but theyve tried to showcase it pretty well, and had ink packs available for demo machines already.

I'm hoping STS can come up with something within the next year that may work for refills, at a more practical cost. We switched over to STS inks for our other DTF printers and the opaqueness and color consistency has been great....

Waiting months with no real updates is the worst. Epson really should be more transparent when stuff gets delayed like this.

I think they prioritized their bigger US distributors first... We had about a 5 week wait. Of course, vague ETA updates from Epson....

Called for an ETA update on Wednesday, didn't hear back from our distributor. SAIA Transport called at 830am on Thursday to schedule delivery that day. Then the Distributor called as it was bring delivered to inform us it was scheduled today

Man who touches printers inappropriately.
Apparently there was patent drama on the Epson chip front with STS, they have nice inks for those heads, but DRM is the mofo it's designed to be.
