Epson ink increase again or just Grimco?

Just curious as if anyone else has gotten notifications from Grimco on yet another Epson ink price increase? Wasn't sure if it was Grimco or just Epson raising the prices. See they often do a 2% increase yet this went from 187 to 206 and cant help but notice thats another 10% again. Honestly at this point with the terrible heads up from Grimco paired with Epson just being king of a sh*tty company all together I think I'd rather move back to Mimaki and worry about the support being hard to get. I mean not long ago when we were going to get hit with tarriffs they raised priced to 226ish if you guys recall. What was funny was a couple other companies i deal with were not raising prices till there next shipment came in yet Grimco raised their prices on the inks right then. Which is extremely funny considering the large amount of stock they actually have with the ink. But hey why not double dip for as long as we keep supporting them they'll keep buying up the little guys as well as the mid size companies till were all f'd. Sad to say but they way these guys are run have literally about ruined the industry for me to the point I don't even wanna be in it. To the smart asses that say $18 is nothing in cost of ink....Your absolutely correct in the grand scope its nothing what an extra .05 on a yard sign? its the simple fact that Grimco can't ever be responsible enough to let customers know, Epson the same. It just gets old.

Was just venting and seeing if its just me tired of this bs.

For all the other concerns I have about the new Epson S9170 (replaces the S80600) that just got released this year, the 1500mL ink is only $255 right now, versus the 700mL for $206 on the 80600...

I was told Epson did a 20% increase on inks, media, parts, etc (This was before the China tarriff pause)
That being said, Xi and Trump are starting up the tit for tat again. So, I expect tarrifs to go back up at some point later this year.... such a roller coaster ride...

Yes it increased, so did the printer prices.

i have a friend that ordered a printer, paid and they hit him with a 7% price increase after the sale

My Epson R5070L Ink went from $375 per box to $413
Epson G6070 ink went from $160 to $176

Canon Colorado ink box went from $320 to $350

Highest Tax Increase Ever

Going to be spending almost $1000 more on ink per month now

I haven't seen a price hike on the S80600 inks (yet). Still payin' $165/ea. (regular colors), and $225/ea. for white/silver.
(sorry I can't disclose the distributor. I know -- it seems like an azzhat move -- but I don't want Epson catching wind and forcing a price hike on them) I'm sure it's just a matter of time though. I should stock up a little before that happens.

Search around for some of the "smaller" distributors that don't mind going under MSRP. They're out there!

Exactly... you are in Canada. Canada & China don't have any trade wars
Our epson ink has increased quite a bit... We're in Canada yes, but It gets shipped to USA... and then Canada buys it from Epson USA... So the price increase affects Canada too.

The S40 ink was increased for us... Not sure about the S80 ink as it uses the bigger cartridges. But Canada is definitely feeling the effect of the tariffs on ink... And yes, it was announced to be because of tariffs, and then when they went on pause, surprise surprise... it didnt get lowered.

HP ink was also increased due to tariffs here, and it also didnt get lowered. Every company will take advantage of price increases.... free money.

Lower ink costs if Canada becomes part of the USA? I'm all for it -- if that allows us to make poutine our national dish. +1 for squeaky cheese! :D Closest I can get is overnighting Wisconsin curds. :s

I'd pay 10X the ink cost to make sure Canada never becomes a part of America, as I'm sure 99% of Canadians would (As evidenced by just how much Tourism USA lost because of Trumps stupid comments about it... )

Nothing against America, and I'm not one to have pride in my country, or even care where I live... But Canada is Canada, and America is America, Having lived in both... Both have their ups and downs, but trying to merge them is dumb!

I'm out west so I've never had "true" quebec poutine... But poutine is great! I love the "fake" poutine that gets snubbed, to this day I say Mcdonalds poutine is the best.

To be honest... Poutine is like chilli cheese fries, It'd be a big hit in USA...so I'm kind of surprised it's not in more spots. In Canada almost every restaurant has it.. (Wendys, burger king, Dairy queen, Mcdonalds...) Every grocery store sells cheese curds by the bag... It's extremely popular, so it's very odd a quick google search and you guys can't even buy a bag of curds online!

We've come close a few times to make a solid poutine. Really squeaky curds overnighted from Wisconsin (cheesebros.com), duck fat, etc... all the things. Still didn't quite match what I've had across the border though.
