Epson R5070 Drying Time Setting

I'm having trouble figuring out what the "Drying Time" setting actually does. According to the user guide it is supposed to add time in between passes, however that doesn't work for me. In the media setting I have it set to "Follow Drying Time Setting", which allows me to change it on the fly while printing. I tried turning it all the way up to 10 seconds, and it is still printing at the same speed. Any ideas? Thanks in advance!
