Discussion Epson SureColor - Eco Solvent vs. Resin (Latex)

Has anyone made the switch from eco solvent to resin? We are looking to replace our Epson SC80600, was just going to replace it with it's eco solvent equivalent but I see the Epson SC R5070 and it has piqued my interest.
I loved my Epson SC 80600 and would just as soon replace it but also not opposed to evolving with the industry. Tell me about your experiences please and thank you!

The Epson resin printers are essentially their version of a latex printer. It's less toxic and you can laminate right after printing which are the main pros latex printers. It does, however, require 2 x 220 power inputs for the heaters since it requires way more heat than a solvent printer to cure.

I have the R5070L , stick to solvent. 0 advantages over solvent as far as I can tell and you are blasting the material with way more heat. Solvent is better because less heat

Where as I have both a s60 and a resin and I prefer the resin.

No worrying about hand prints like you have to on solvent… no off gassing… no gummy glue from the resin like with a solvent, so installers prefer it. Much more scratch resistant than solvent….

I main out like that I can handle it right away though. I wouldn’t give up my s60, and I wouldn’t give up on resin - but if I had to choose… I’d go with the resin.

Now I haven’t compared it to the new Epson solvents….so i can’t say which id prefer. But the resin is half the price.
