My 1638UH is throwing this error 38" into a 4x8 yard sign (18x24 each) print. It gets 4 full yard signs then starts 5&6 then throws the error and stops.

If I set it to 4 yard signs(36x48 total) it finish's fine.

I ran a 12"W x 85" high single file on a piece of coro i had laying around that was 24"Wx96" just to test and see what would happen, and it printed that fine.

I was going to run a full 48x96 today at some point, but figured I would start this conversation
Any ideas?

Head heat errors usually indicate a short or other electrical issue. Your situation is a little more rare though since it happens over time. Most head heat errors immediately error out a start up. I'd check your head cable for any damage or ink splatter that could be causing a short. Maybe reseat them to make sure they're making good contact. I'd also clean the chrome metal piece that's around the head surface to make sure it's not completely caked with ink. That metal seems unimportant but it is responsible for grounding the head which can cause issues if it's not grounded well enough. Other than that, it could be a bad head or some other electrical issue with the machine.

Turned out to be expired ink. replaced, 3 little charges, then let it sit for 4 hours. All good after that
