fc5100-75 not polling flexi

good mornig,

just got this plotter reset it factory. it will not poll in flexi.. Ive changed usb cables.
Ive heard that the 5100 will only poll via serial..

it will sorta but its a pain. in flexi
select manual then hit the poll button it sometimes polls but other/mostly you have to click on the setup then go back into flexi. this does not always work. i get "cutter did not respond to poll"

any thoughts?
