FC8600 ARMS problem

When searching for registration marks, the little "shroud" that pops down while it goes back and forth looking for the mark stopped working. It will still find the marks and seems to still be accurate. Is this a problem any one has had? If so, how did you fix it.

Never seen that before, but I do know it's just a little magnetic solenoid that turns on and off, and hat plugs into the carriage board. My best guess would be maybe one of the wires is damaged, you could probably take the little carriage cover off and see if you notice anything obvious with the cables.
