FD4 file extension

Anyone use these? What is it?
The auto shop down the street provided their logo in this format and can't find anyway to export it.
Said it works for their tint plotter, so I think there's a vector version here.

On occasions, if I think the unknown file is a vector, I change the extension to dot AI, and try an open the file in illustrator, it has worked for me sometimes. Worth a try!

Just make sure you make a copy of the file first - that way if, by changeing the extension, you corrupt the file - which can happen by manually doing this - the original is still intact
