flatbed printer choices

We have been researching flatbed printers and have narrowed the search down to the Mimaki JFX200-2513, Oce Arizona 365 GT and the Jetrix KX5. We produce graphics for hospitals, universities, corporate interiors, museums and trade show exhibits. High quality resolution and ink adhesion are important factors for us and we are looking for any advice from people who run these machines currently. We like the quality of the Mimaki prints and are currently waiting for samples from Jetrix and Oce on our test file. If you have any advice or experience with these machines please share.

Thanks,
Chris

Chris,

The Mimaki JFX200-2513 is a very nice printer; and, with an MSRP of $78K, it is even a nicer printer.

Both the Oce and the Jetrix are nice printers as well; however, I'm not so sure their price/performance are the same as Mimaki.

Do you have the price of the Oce Arizona 365 GT? I'm also looking for a flatbed and the Oce and mimaki are in my head list.

BigBen and Chris

I believe the Oce 365GT sells somewhere north of $110K in US?

I noticed that Mimaki has just announced a "Year End Special" for certain printer "bundles".
If you purchased the JFX200-2513, you can purchase a CJV300-130 ($28K) 54", mild solvent print and cut printer for what appears to be an additional $9K. That is a deal.

Mimaki comes with raster link and Oce uses Onyx Thrive. Take that into consideration also.

I have an oce xt480. newer version than the 300 series, except the 365 uses the newer heads that the 400 series use. Prints amazing. no adhesion problems.
The oce will print quicker than the mimaki also. The 365 will print the same speed as the 1200, except the 1200 is just newer tech.
The arizona 318GL would be more in the ball park of the mimaki as they're both entry level.

Big Ben,

Robert is correct the Oce 365 GT is $110,000 and the Mimaki is $85,000. We are going with the Mimaki as our first flatbed printer. We would like it to be faster but with our production workflow we can work around the speed issue. Next issue is picking between the inks. We feel ink adhesion is very important so we are leaning toward the 100 inks which have a stronger adhesion. We are not sure if the color is the same between the 100 and 150 inks. If anyone out there knows that would be helpful.

Hey Ct, do you have an update on your Mimaki? Are you happy with it?
