flexi 8 and roland gx-24 on usb port

Helping a friend of mine who is trying to get flexi 8.1 to work with a roland gx-24 cutter. In flexi's setup menu for the plotter the usb port is not listed as an option, it lists com 1 -4 and some lpt ports along with some other options, but nothing about a usb port.

Any ideas or solutions to make this work without going to the old printer cables? Thanks in advance

Is the GX-24 actually listed in Flexi version 8.1? Can't remember.

What Windows OS Version?

Have you installed the USB Drivers for the cutter and have it listed in the Windows Printer Devices?

I would recommend upgrading his Flexi 8.1

Didn't think about the driver part. I'll try downloading that in the morning and yes, the gx-24 is listed in the plotter setup.
