Flexi (ancient) sets all type as Italic

We just purchased a used Mimaki CG06 ST vinyl cutter which came with a computer that had an ancient version of flexi (circa 2001 or so).

We can import an AI3 file and print it just fine.

When we set type in flexi, anything we type is rendered in Italic.

As soon as the cursor appears, it's leaning to the right.

Is there a setting I'm missing? Is the type being mysteriously skewed?

We're getting the Mimaki software that let's us print our of AI, but just curious about the flexi.

my guess is you've set the default type to an italic one. select the type tool, pick your most used font and then selelct another tool. this works for colors as well

when you select the type tool look at the properties in design view box select the A tab and look it may have kerning added to it or its set as Italic as stated above.

Found that there was a 12% skew set up in the Design Central panel. Cleared that and fixed the problem. Many thanks to all who helped.
