Flexisign7.6 v2 and gerber edge

Just purchased a gerber edge classic and am trying to output to it from the above version of flex. When I send the job all I keep getting is DATA ERROR.
I set up the edge as detailed in set up instructions. Am running in widows 98.

Anyone have any idea what I need to do. Gerber edge test print runs fine so I feel it's a communication problem.
