I have Flexi but dont see Fleer fonts in it.

It doesn't matter if you use Flexi, Illustrator, Photoshop, Microsoft Word or anything else; if you don't have the font installed on your computer, it wont show up.

Arial Sucks.
I'm certain it's Zapf Chancery Medium Italic. However, it has been altered.

Alteration #1: it has been squeezed. Ugh. Font Sacrilege.
Alteration #2: it has been made artificially more bold using some sort of outline tool (Corel's contour effect, Illustrator's outline or path offset filters, etc.). In making the type more bold it swallowed up many of the more subtle details in the lettering. It's usually just better to find a native version of the script that is more bold. Unfortunately the real bold weight of Zapf Chancery looks much different (the capital letters don't have any of the swash effects).

I'm not ready to buy that. Yes if you condense the Zapf Chancery it looks even more like the Big Boy example but the stroke of the example is very uniform while the Zapf Chancery is very weighted (thick and thin). I don't know of any tool other than node by node editing that is going to overcome that difference.

This brings up two additional possibilities.

1. In going for a more uniform stroke the person could have set the type in Zapf Chancery Light-Italic and then applied the offset path effects to make it more bold.

2. Also, to keep the stroke more uniform the person could have squeezed the type first and then applied the offset path effect afterward in an attempt to hide the stroke distortion.

At any rate, Zapf Chancery is definitely the inspiration for the "Big Boy" lettering regardless of how it was created.
