It looks a bit like it may have started out as Franklin Gothic Bold Extra Condensed. Is it old, hand painted, or intentionally ragged?

I know it's one of those distressed fonts, and it looks like one I have used and seen many times before. Definitely not something someone hand distressed.

I found it. Like I said, I knew I had it.
I think we all know what it's like going thru our huge libraries to find one particular font. It's like searching for a needle in a haystack.
Anyhow, it's this one that I was thinking of, and while it's not exact, it will work for this application:
