An oldie but goodie is this "MEGAFLICKS" channel letter sign, set in Handel Gothic. The word "flicks" clearly looks like something else. I would post a picture of it here, but I guess it could violate forum rules on dirty words. Easy to find in Google Images (along with lots of other unintentionally funny signs).
Kerning that is too tight can be a hazard, particularly with the wrong choice of typeface. "FLICKS" is one good example. The word "clicks" set in all lowercase is maybe just as hazardous.
