I'm here to give you your latest fix. I find it ironic that they mention security, when this is a huge security risk waiting to happen. More and more, this is becoming a locked down abstracted "toy" OS. About it's only real advantage is 3rd party vendor support (which has really been it's biggest advantage for as long as I can remember and I remember when MS had a unix-like OS as well).

I'm not exactly surprised by this though, they have spent a lot of money for this tech and they have to recoup it some how. Even with something like this, I would have a significantly less problem if it was all local, but that isn't going to happen, I'm sure that this has 800+ partners that need in on the action like for their office suite.

what was interesting in what that microsoft dude said was that we'd have unlimited compute with quantum chips.. they are spending billions building ai compute centers.. that going to be not worth it if quantum computers come out and replace all those nividia chips?

Truth be told, I think they are losing their skin with the investment into what passes for "AI". They are having to stop that hemorrhaging by forcing it in every nook and cranny that they can.

Quantum computers, while technically already out just not for the normie user, it will probably be another 10 yrs or so before that market is viable for them.
