Gerber HS-15 Cuts too small

I have a Gerber HS-15 set up with a dell computer. The computer is dual boot with Windows XP and Ubuntu Linux. The plotter is set up in both systems using vinyl master cut in XP and Tux Plot and Inkscape in Ubuntu. In both systems when I cut an image the plotter cuts it too small. If I cut an 8 1/2 x 11" image it turns out about 3" x 5" on the plotter. I'm using a null modem cable on com1 set at 9600. Do you have any ideas that can help me?
