Being a grandpa is more fun than working
I found another interesting antique cast iron vanity bench on Facebook marketplace and I'm calling all S101 antique experts to help me track down any information about it. I've googled a gazillion keywords and still come up with nothing.
The Swans are remarkably detailed and ornate, with incredible finish work along the parting lines. They don't make things this nice any more.
As of late, people have begun asking for memorials with NO dates...something I find amusing.
The top is deeply cut (sandblasted) tumbled Pennsylvania blue stone. 100% natural contrast between the surface and the lettering is due to the shadows (no paint in lettering) just like they used to do in the old days.
