‘Tis the season for all things green, and one wholesale-only manufacturer of monument signs is gaining industry recognition due to the "earth friendly" properties of their Foamcore monument signs and cost effective nature of their product relative to the alternative materials used to make monument signs.
Peachtree City Foamcraft is the largest manufacturer of Foamcore Monument Signage, their products are manufactured using an expanded polystyrene foam core, then encapsulated in their exclusive, plastic Poly-Armor ™ hardcoat and finally finished with a light stucco sprayed texture to simulate concrete.
Other manufacturing techniques include traditional concrete monument signage, Dryvit or Glass Fiber, while the techniques are effective in offering a less expensive product; they are not considered "earth friendly".
How can signage be "earth friendly or green"? The new ideology of "going green" means companies and end users alike are striving to utilize products that offer tangible environmental advantages that include energy efficiency, recycled content, localized distribution and improved indoor air quality.
Peachtree City Foamcraft launched a "green initiative" in late 2011 to educate their sign shop clients on the "earth-friendly" benefits of their Foamcore monument signage, here are some of the highlights:

[FONT=Arial,Arial][FONT=Arial,Arial]Temperature Cycling & Environmental Impact: [/FONT][/FONT]Peachtree City Foamcraft manufactures their monument signage using inert materials made of petroleum and natural gas by-products and has designed their signs to withstand the abuse of temperature cycling, ensuring long term performance.
[FONT=Arial,Arial][FONT=Arial,Arial]Resource Efficient and Recyclable: [/FONT][/FONT]Foamcore Signage is relatively lightweight using less energy, therefore creating less pollution then traditional concrete signage. EPS (the foam in "Foamcore") is 100% recyclable and landfill safe, it does not produce methane gas o[FONT=Arial,Arial][FONT=Arial,Arial]r [/FONT][/FONT]contaminating leechates.
While "earth-friendly" and "green" products can be measured using a range of techniques and evaluating a variety of components, an emphasis has been placed on the environmental impact of the product and the true ability to effectively recycle any byproduct of the manufacturing process.
