I posted this in the thread where someone was requesting more information, but I figured I would just start it's own thread. This video, in the beginning it shows very basic steps to creating gradients, then towards the end it goes over transparent gradients, dealing with gradients and bitmap images, and improving your gradients and making the colors look more true.
