I finally got my cutter to recognize Reg. marks and cut a simple contour cut image. But the Accuracy is off a about 1/8 inch and angled slightly.

using Illustrator and CM2

Thanks for the help.

Alignment is key, I use the reg. marks on the front of the plotter to align the material to the machine, I like to use my finger nail the make sure the registation marks are sraight arcross the front of the machine at the cut strip.

Sounds like the pinch wheels may possibly be set at different tensions. As you move the media back and forth on the feed axis, does it feed straight or does it skew?

If you send the same job out again will it cut in the same place (1/8" off?)
If you measure the cut, is it the same size as the digital path or is it scaled?

Thanks for the quick response guys. I'll work on these suggestions and see what happens. I'm thinking alignment as well...

Thanks

Are you using 3 or 4 point alignment targets?

Does it find all of the alignment targets?

I've never had it be off once it finds the targets. Usually the problem is the targets being too close to a pinch roller or too close to the front or end of the material. Any of those will cause it to ignore or not find a target and stop the contour cutting process.
