Suggestions Hanging a stone sign on an office wall

We have a potential new customer that wants to duplicate a sign that they've had up for almost 30 years. It is 1/2" Granite with acrylic letters with rowmark faces.
I think I've got the construction part figured out, but I don't know how they hung it up.
Looking down from the top, it's flush mounted. I can see big dollops of clear adhesive on the letters, but the diamond has a piece of what looks like .080 aluminum on the wall, and I can't tell how the sign is attached.

Do you guys have any experience or ideas?

I'd bet they cut 080 to mount to the studs with screws, then double stuck the granite to the 080, then added each additional element.
I would figure on drilling 2 sets of holes through the granite under the S and E, one for studs for the letters to match up to, another for mechanical fastening the granite to the wall. They are a construction company, they ought to be understanding that you will need to hit a stud or have decking behind that section of wall. From there, add all the letters like a typical flat cut install, but I'd also make a smaller piece of granite to go under the rest of 'construction' to keep it all in plane and have that bar in one solid piece. Not sure if they were trying to save money there or what.
