Having problems reading registration marks

on clear 3M EC film.
I have been printing/plotting this stuff for a year and it all of a sudden stops?
I tried using EG(thinking it was a plotter problem), and it worked.
Go and print an old file on the clear(thinking maybe its just the particular file) and it wont read that one either.
Wonder what the deal is?
