heat shrink tubing

i have a customer that wants a LOT of shrink tube printed. he found a source in dallas, but asked me to price it also...

1. i did not even know this was possible...is it..
2. how is it done.

I don't know how it's done, but in my past life in the theatre, I have ordered from the fine folks at heatshrink.com and was very pleased with the results. Might be worth a call to them to see if they'd wholesale it to you.

looks like it's done with thermal printing. They've got a printer available for a bit over 500 bucks. At that size order, it might be worth the investment for your shop?

That site was an education.... In my days in the Navy 75-95 we had a rubber roller used in a IBM Selectric Typewriter that had slots length wise in the rubber that we slid white shrink tubing in. Then you hand typed on the tube then cut it to length.....

Just checked and there were 6 Modern Versions on eBay....
