Help replacing scan motor

I need to replace the scan motor on my Roland SP540V.
Can anybody tell me what settings do I need to check and adjust after replacement?
Anything else I should know?

And if I replace the feed motor, are there any settings I should check and adjust after replacement?

If you don't have it, you need to get the pdf service manual for starters...

How do you know you need to replace it/them?
