RIGHT at the end of a 7 panel job the belt freaking broke on my 360. Any of you HP users had this happen and replaced it in house? help please!

can the belt be too tight? it sheared off the length of teeth holding it in the clamp in the carriage assembly i can move it in a few teeth and reclamp

Seems like you figured it out. You know there's the spring to control the tension but if you get it too tight you can have excess wear on the scan motor and get errors from it.
I would replace it asap. B4H70-67026 - Belt and tensioner
