Horozontal Print Shift

Print and cut is fine.
When there are no outlines in art the print is correct.
When printing any kind of outline the outline is shifted to the right horizontally.
The shift occurs with any media used.

Encoding strip was cleaned, factory settings were applied with no change.

Thanks

Importing eps to versaworks, some files are pdf, type imported not a factor. these are jobs that have been printed many times before without issue.

If resetting the printer didn't fix it and you're sure the files are fine then it's the RIP that is the problem. Do what Mervin said and reinstall.

Hey Trickstar,

We suspect the problem is the printer (encoder scale and sensor), but to leave no stone unturned (and since you have a SP-300i), we suggest that you test Roland VersaWorks Dual for comparison purposes. You can download the installation package online here: VersaWorks Dual Upgrade.

If it solves the problem, perfect, just continue using the new VersaWorks version.
However, if the issue continues, then this is hardware and it's time to call your authorized Roland dealer for service.

If you have additional questions or need extra support directly from Roland corporate support, please submit an "official" support request form online here: Product Support Form | Roland

If you do write us, we look forward to helping you and take care,

Encoder strip and sensor replaced. Three setups run, no change in horizontal shift when printed from VW or VW Dual.
Created test art using a pen outline on one and a vector outline on the other.
Vector outline is better, slightly off but better.

What's left to try?

On a positive note print quality has improved.

Vertical, bias (mechanical) and horizontal (most likely here I think) calibrations, which are in the service mode.

Off just a tad.
Seven year old encoder strip was due to be replaced anyway as sensor was also coated in grease.

Thanks to Joe House for your help!
