How do I turn the canvas off in Flexi?

No idea what you mean. If you mean that you have a coloured background you want to turn off, you can select the colour in the Design Central.

You can also make the frame visible or not in design central. Just make sure you don't have any objects selected and Design Central will have controls for the design space or canvas. Click around and you'll find the switches.
